One of the best shows I have ever watched. I ignored all the hype around the time it was coming out, mostly because I hated watching shows that I perceived to have a very fatalistic view of the world. In general, I’m very partial to positive and optimistic shows. Years after its completion, a friend of mine convinced me to give it a shot. And here we are 8 seasons and a few weeks later, I am ready to declare it declare it the best show I have ever watched. ## Incredible Acting at Every Turn In most movies and shows, the best acting is what is memorable. With GOT, it seems to be that the occasional average acting is what actually stands out. Scene after scene, great writing meets great acting and so far, I haven’t been disappointed. Granted, I am an episode 2 away from the cliffs edge of where fans opinion about the quality of the show soured so take my input with a grain of salt. However, I will say that if a show delivers 7 phenomenal seasons and stumbles on its last and 8th season, I will not judge it based on that final delivery. ## Characters to Root for With such a diverse set of characters, each with their own realistic motivations, there is no shortage of hero’s (or villains) to support in their claim to the throne. Do you like your hero’s to be pure? Or do you like them conflicted but ultimately against evil? How about those whose failing inevitably lead them towards a dark path? Or are you into true villainy, motivated with a desire to acquire and abuse absolute power absolutely? This show has them all. Not only that, it’s hard to put a box around any of the characters and decide what category they fall into. As motivations change and plot lines evolve, yesterdays villain is revealed to be todays savior and it will, at the end, make you question about your judgmental approach to people’s decision and reevaluate what it means to be good or bad. ## How many episodes before I know if it works for me or not? Most likely, I would strongly suggest finishing at least season 1 before deciding. If that is too much for you, let me say this. This is a show that was a world wide phenomena, brining fantasy nerds and rom-com lovers together so it is worth the risk of losing 10 hours of your life to see if it works for you. ## What about all the nudity Yes, there is a very substantial amount of nudity in the show. However, I will say that most of it is contextual and either moves the plot forward or helps you relate with the character’s experience. I have not seen the show (at least so far) indulge in nudity that is simply for nudities sake. # Final Call I hope you give it a shot.
